Mirzapur Nursing Institute is approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and affiliated with Rajshahi Medical University and the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council. The main objective of the institute is to train the students to become trained, efficient nurses through the theoretical and most practical teaching of nursing education. It is playing a leading role in developing the nursing profession as well as skilled health workers in the formation of healthy, flexible public health by providing nursing education to the poor and backward students of North Bengal, including Dinajpur, and accelerating the quality of health services in the country. As a result, these students are making a tremendous contribution to the health services of the country, which is improving the quality of life in the public health sector. Mirzapur Nursing Institute is located in the heart of Dinajpur city. The institution has two vast modern campuses of 2000 square feet. The institution has 500 students, 15 full-time teachers, and 40 officers and employees. With the efforts of the skilled teachers, the students of this institution have successfully passed all the examinations held under Rajshahi Medical University and the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council. The organization is working with the aim of creating skilled health workers, ensuring health services for the people of the country, and eliminating unemployment.

B.Sc in Nursing (Basic)

04-year duration: B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic) Course. Mirzapur Nursing Institute is affiliated with the Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Rajshahi University. The changing concept of the health care system has opened new doors in medical education. Currently, the B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic) Education degree is one of the most important branches of medical education.

Admission Eligibility

04-year duration: B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic) must be admitted within two years of passing HSC from the science department. 02-year duration, B.Sc. in Nursing (Post-Basic), diploma passed from BNMC. Admission by the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council Students who get a minimum of 40 marks in the exam can get admission.

Job Facilities

Nurses play a vital role in healthcare. Candidates with a PBBSC degree can find work in government and private hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, community health centers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other settings. There are also openings for second-class nursing positions.

Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery

03-year duration-Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery Course Mirzapur Nursing Institute is approved by the Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and affiliated with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council. Currently, degrees in nursing science and midwifery education are one of the most important branches of medical education. An institution approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and accredited by the Bangladesh Nursing Council. Diploma in Midwifery

A midwife provides advice, care, and support to women and newborns during and after pregnancy, labor, and early delivery. She helps women make decisions about various health services under their care during pregnancy and advises them on health and child care. A midwife is personally responsible for the health of both mother and baby and recommends seeing a gynecologist if medical complications arise during pregnancy or birth. A midwife provides services in hospitals and community health centers.

Admission eligibility

Applicants must have passed both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations from any group, preferably science, from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or any other Board in Bangladesh. Applicants must have a GPA less than 2.5 in the SSC and 2.5 in the HSC examination.

Job Facilities

A midwife can work in various government hospitals and health care centers. Moreover, many workers are being recruited for this profession in the government department. Due to the various steps taken by the government to ensure healthcare, the demand for trained workers in this profession is constantly increasing.
